The Yard Block Quota tab displays the existing yard block quotas created or edited for the selected appointment rule. Use yard block quotas to reduce yard congestion for delivery appointments by restricting the number of delivery appointments allowed in a specific yard block. When a user creates a delivery appointment that includes the RejectApptQuotaForYardBlockExceeded (on page 1) business task, N4 rejects the delivery appointment if:
The container associated with the appointment is located in a yard block with a yard block quota.
The number of existing delivery appointments for that yard block and specified time slot equal the yard block quota.
For example, if:
Block A has a yard block quota of 10, but Block B does not have a yard block quota.
Yard block quota for block A is associated with an appointment rule that has 1hr time slots.
The appointment rule for this yard block quota allows users to make 100 deliver full appointments for each time slot.
The appointment configuration for this yard includes the RejectApptQuotaForYardBlockExceeded business task for delivery import transaction types only.
Then N4 allows users to create only 10 deliver import appointments during each 1hr time slot for containers located in block A. In this example, N4 does not restrict the number of deliver empty appointments for block A or block B or the number of deliver import appointments for block B based on yard block quotas. However, users can make up to 100 deliver full appointments (any combination of deliver import and deliver export) as long as no more than 10 of the deliver import appointments are for containers in block A.
